Fancy a Glass?
Wine is an alcoholic beverage produced by the fermentation of fruit, typically grapes though a number of other fruits are also quite popular - such as plum, elderberry and blackcurrant. Popular wine producing countries are France, Spain, Australia, Chile, Italy, United States of America and Argentina. Well-known wine varieties are Riesling, Chardonnay, Muscat, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir.History of Wine
The origin of wine appeared to have began in the Middle East as there are frequent references to wine in the Old Testament of the bible. Centuries later the role of wine for sacramental use in Christian churches helped maintain the industry after the fall of the Roman Empire. Wine was also used by early Minoan, Greek, and Etruscan civilizations. As is the development of the western world, so is the popularity of wine. Its growth and impact has been astonishing.
